my brightest diamond

Hello all,

This is my first post on the Try This blog. I think you should try "My Brightest Diamond." I thought of her when reading Johanna's thing about theatre music. I haven't heard Mr. Rainwright nor Ms. Apple, but from your description, I think Ms. Diamond fits the bill.

I've only heard two of her songs so far, but wow. Listen to one of them here. She's on tour right now with Sufjan Stevens.

yours,
Brandon

This album reminds me of one of my favorites - Goldfrapp's Felt Mountain. Alison Goldfrapp wrote it with a film composer and it has a very cool, moody, cinematic feel to it. (Warning: Her other albums sound nothing like Felt Mountain)
